How do I report PDUs in CCRS?

Log in at ccrs.pmi.org, choose Report PDUs, pick the category, enter the activity and the hours by Talent Triangle area, agree to the statement and submit. A course reported with its PMI claim code fills in the details for you and is accepted straight away. Self-reported activities are accepted on submission and may be audited later. The whole thing takes about five minutes per claim. The steps, with the mistakes that get claims rejected, are below.

What do I need before I start?

Three things. Have them open in another tab and each claim is a copy-and-paste job.

Your PMI login

The same email and password you use on PMI.org. CCRS is at ccrs.pmi.org, or through myPMI. The PMI mobile app reports PDUs too.

The claim code, for a registered course

A course registered with PMI comes with a code on the certificate or in the completion email. It fills in the provider, title and Talent Triangle split for you.

The details, for everything else

Provider or organisation, activity title, start and end dates, hours in quarter-hour steps, the Talent Triangle area, and two lines on what you learned.

How do I report a course that has a claim code?

This is the fast path. Five clicks and the claim is accepted.

1. Log in and choose Report PDUs

Go to ccrs.pmi.org, sign in, and click Report PDUs on the dashboard.

2. Pick Education, then Course or Training

Education is the group; Course or Training is the category for any registered course, online or in a classroom.

3. Enter the claim code

Type or paste the code from your certificate. CCRS fills in the provider, the course title and the PDU split by area.

4. Check the dates and the split

Enter the dates you took the course. Confirm the Ways of Working, Power Skills and Business Acumen numbers match the certificate. Do not change them.

5. Agree and submit

Tick the statement that the claim is accurate and submit. The status shows as approved almost at once, and your dashboard bars move.

Hold two certifications?

Report once. CCRS applies the PDUs to every certification they count for. Power Skills and Business Acumen count for all of them.

How do I report a webinar, a book or a podcast?

These are self-reported. The steps are the same, you just type the details yourself.

Webinars and events

Education, then Course or Training for a webinar, or Organization Meetings for a chapter event or conference. Enter the provider, the title, the date, the hours and the area the content covered. Keep the confirmation email.

Books, podcasts, videos and articles

Education, then Read or Informal Learning. Enter the title, the dates, the hours you actually spent, the area, and a short description of what you learned. This description is what an auditor reads.

How do I report Giving Back PDUs?

Choose Giving Back instead of Education. These count towards your total, up to the cap, and never towards a Talent Triangle minimum.

Work as a Practitioner

One claim a year for doing your job. Capped at 8 per cycle for the 60-PDU certifications, 4 for the 30-PDU ones, 2 for CAPM.

Volunteer or Mentor

Enter the organisation, what you did, the dates and the hours. Keep a log; there is no certificate for this.

Create Content or Present

Title of the article, talk or session, the date, and the hours you spent preparing and delivering.

How do I know my renewal is complete?

Your CCRS dashboard tells you. Watch the bars, then finish the renewal.

1. All bars reach the line

The total bar and the three Talent Triangle bars each have a line for the minimum. When every one is met, CCRS says you are eligible to renew.

2. Apply the PDUs and pay the fee

Click the renew prompt, confirm the PDUs apply to this cycle, and pay PMI’s renewal fee. The fee is lower for PMI members.

3. A new cycle starts

PMI confirms by email and your next three-year cycle begins on the day the old one ends, not the day you paid.

Can I watch it being done?

Four minutes, start to finish, reporting a registered course with its claim code.

Why was my PDU claim rejected?

Five reasons cover almost every rejection or stalled renewal.

One Talent Triangle area is short

The total says 60, but one bar is under 8. CCRS will not renew you until that area is filled with Education PDUs.

The same course was claimed twice

Reporting one course under two names, or once with a code and once by hand, gets the second claim removed and can trigger an audit.

Hours do not match the activity

Eight PDUs for a one-hour webinar, or a 40-hour book. Claim the hours you spent, in quarter-hour steps.

The wrong category

A course filed under Giving Back, or volunteering filed under Education, is corrected or rejected. Education is learning; Giving Back is contributing.

Over the Giving Back cap

Anything above 25 Giving Back (12 or 6 for the smaller certifications) is simply not counted, however many hours you did.

What happens if PMI audits me?

PMI audits a random sample of renewals. You get an email asking for evidence of the claims you made. It is routine, and it is easy if you kept records.

Keep evidence for 18 months after your cycle ends. Certificates and completion emails for courses and webinars. A dated note with hours and what you learned for reading and podcasts. A log of dates and topics for mentoring and volunteering. One spreadsheet that lists every claim and where its evidence is. The free PDU log template is built for exactly this.

Yes, and you should. Report each activity as soon as you finish it. PDUs apply to the cycle you are in when you earn them, and reporting early gives you time to fix a short area.

You pay it in CCRS, at the renewal step, once every requirement is met. There is nothing to report; the payment completes the renewal.

No. Report it once. CCRS applies the PDUs to every certification they count for. Power Skills and Business Acumen PDUs count for all your certifications; Ways of Working PDUs count for the certification the course was registered against, and always for PMP.

Yes. The PMI mobile app has a Report PDUs option that does the same thing as CCRS on the website.

On the certificate or in the completion email from the course provider. If you cannot find it, ask the provider; a registered course always has one. Never give anyone your PMI login so they can report for you.
